SUNDAY DRIVE

We went for a lovely Sunday drive after church and lunch today.  We drove up into the foothills that surround Phoenix.  The homes are beautiful.  We found one with a For Sale sign in front of it and looked it up.  It was a 4 bedroom, 4 bath home on 2.07 acres for the bargain basement price of $3,4000,000.00.  It was an absolutely beautiful home, but who wants to keep all of that square footage clean?  I guess if you can afford that kind of home, you can also afford to pay someone to keep it clean and in good repair.

We also got to see a Frank Lloyd Wright home.  He was a famous architect and designer.  He lived his final days, and died, here in Phoenix.  We also saw a Spire that he designed – it was pretty neat to look at.  My brother, Roy, is an architect and I sent him pictures of the house and the Spire.  I really think that he would like all the varied architecture here in Phoenix.  Hannah did tell me that the house that we saw today is an Air B&B that can be rented out for something like $1,300.00 per night.

We went out for lunch at a Vegan restaurant and had a very delicious meal.  Yesterday, we ate vegan hot dogs that Tiff made out of carrots.  I was very reluctant to try it, but it wasn’t too bad.  I like how Tiffany looks for healthy alternatives to standard vegan eating and she likes trying new recipes.  I’m not much of an adventurer when it comes making new foods, such as making carrots into hot dogs, but I have been trying some new stuff for myself.  We purchased 25 pounds of carrots to use for juicing – that is enough for 2+ days of juicing.  It took me over an hour to trim and clean all of those carrots, but now I don’t have to do any more scrubbing of carrots for 2 days. A few days ago, I noticed that Tiff, who had brown circles around both of her eyes when she arrived here, has nearly no brown circles now.  She is looking healthier as the time goes on.  She reports feeling more rested since being here and changing her eating and lifestyle – this is good news.

I hope that everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day.  Today’s blog is short but I’m going to go play some games with my girls.
