DAY 1 OF WEEK 4

It’s hard to believe that 3 weeks are done, and we have 3 weeks to go.  Today is the start of week 4.  We are amping up our activity and productivity.  We have a good grasp on our eating plan and are following it well.  The juicing is still burdensome but that will not change until we are making less juice daily and that won’t occur until we’re back home.  We put in a full day today with cleaning house, shopping and putting together a deck box so that Hannah has a place to put her outdoor equipment/tools. I’m quite impressed with how well Tiff and I are doing with putting things together.  We’ve put together the kitchen shelf, 2 nightstands and now the deck box.  We’re also doing it making do with the tools that Hannah already has (until today), which isn’t much. In order to complete the box we had to go buy socket wrenches and regular wrenches.

We hosed down and cleaned her 2 front porches.  They are tiled and it looks nice all cleaned up.  We hope to have the next room cleaned and done tomorrow.  I’m not sure what you call this room.  You can’t do much with it as it is the walkway to the other side of the house. We hope to clean it up and make it look nice.  The “whatever” room.

Last night we had Roto Rooter guys here until 11pm.  Hannah has been having trouble with her plumbing on our side of the house for several months.  This is the 3rd time since we got here that they have been called and came out to fix the plumbing issues.  The main issue is that the toilet in mine and Tiff’s bathroom only flushes occasionally.  Joe, the guy who was here Monday, called for his buddy Mark to come and camera the lines as he just wasn’t confident of what was going on.  This home has an addition, and it turns out that the “old” part of the house has much older plumbing than the new.  The sewer drainage runs different directions from each bathroom in the house.  I’ll make a long story shorter – the “old” plumbing on our side of the house has a main sewer line that has collapsed.  The foundation will have to be dug up, line replaced and then foundation re-laid.  Horrible news for Hannah.  We’re hoping that homeowner’s insurance will cover it.

For dinner tonight we had spaghetti with “meat” sauce.  Tiff purchased chickpea noodles.  I’ve never had them before.  I don’t think they’re any less calories, just no flour in them.  They’re quite pricey too.  They actually did taste good.  We had good sized salads with it for a healthy meal that was pretty filling.  In the past when eating regular pasta, I tend to be hungry about an hour later, I’ll see if that happens with these noodles.  Another day of juicing, eating vegan and being active is done.  I have hurt the right lower side of my back so we won’t be going on our evening walk tonight.  I think that when I lifted weights earlier today I did something wrong.  Hannah is going to buy a heating pad on her way home for me.  I sure hope that this resolves quickly and doesn’t mess our day up tomorrow.  Guess Tiff will have to clean carrots again tonight – it is my turn.  Oh well 😊.

Day 22 is done, day 23 is on the way.  “We repair what your husband fixed” – a plumber.

I love making spaghetti dishes similarly to how I used to, except using lentils rather than meat…even grated tofu is good! Now that you put the notion in my head, I have to make some! 🤣 And a big ol’ vegan salad will be wonderful with it!

My fingers are crossed for an easy resolution to the plumbing issue. 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

We’re trying to make this time beneficial to all of us and Hannah really needed help in this area. I think that she appreciates our efforts 🙂
