HOME STRETCH

Today is the first day of our 6th week – we are in the home stretch.  So much has changed with both Tiff and I in the last five weeks it’s hard to recall all the changes.  Earlier today I was looking at Tiff’s legs and remembering how swollen they were when she was at my home in January, and even how swollen they were at the end of the days the first week or two that we were here.  She was able, for the first time in years, to get down on the floor to do some toning exercises just a few days ago.  There have been many good changes both physically and mentally!  Her temperament is much better now than it has been for a very long time.  I think this may be due to the lessening of stressors in her life right now. I believe that her cardiologist and endocrinologist will both be very pleasantly surprised with the changes in her.  I’m hopeful that that, at her upcoming appointments, she will hear something like this “we no longer feel that a heart transplant is called for here.”

Phoenix is really heating up right now.  We have our daily time in the sun up to 17 minutes on each side and some day’s it’s hard to stay in the direct sunlight for that long due to how hot it is.  We both have much better color in our skin now than we did a few weeks ago.  We’ve had to continue to monitor our blood pressure.  Tiff’s went a little bit too low the other day and we had to hold her medication again.  She is continuing to have intermittent lightheadedness that we think may be due to not drinking enough water.  We are trying to be diligent about drinking at least 64oz daily however, with the increase in the heat that may not be enough.  Most all of our changes are positive, but we’re still working out some bugs.

I looked back at the photos I took the day that we started this plan and then looked through our activities that we have caught in photos.  I took a picture of Tiff today to show the difference in her appearance from five weeks ago until now.  It’s amazing.  Hannah helped me to post her picture so that you all can see the difference.
